More than $100,000 in previously reported stolen motorcycles and parts were discovered Tuesday during a search of a Colfax man’s storage location performed by Sheriff’s Deputies armed with a Search Warrant.

Joel G. Case, 37, was arrested and charged with first degree theft following an ongoing investigation by officials. Members of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Hill Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol Motor Theft Division conducted a search warrant for stolen property at a storage location in Pleasant Hill. As a part of an ongoing investigation and with information provided by citizens, officials were able to find the motorcycles and parts at the location.

According to the report, the investigation was made possible by concerned citizens who reported information concerning the case and with the use of social media.

Case was taken to the Jasper County Jail where he was booked on $10,000 bond.

A Colfax man is behind bars Thursday after authorities found more than $100,000 in stolen items while executing a search warrant at a Pleasant Hill storage unit.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s office said Joel Case, 37, is charged with first-degree theft.
